Liberalization of our visa regime with the one of the European Union

The Ministry of Interior Affairs from 1st October has started an implementation of the changes in the Act for foreigners and the governmental decision for facilitated entry in our country for the EU member states citizens and signatories of the Schengen Agreement, citizens on the EU White list and for foreigners who own legitimate Schengen C visa, as well.

In accordance with the official governmental decision the citizens of the EU state members and signatories of the Schengen Agreement, the legal right to enter Republic of Macedonia will be able to obtain also with a not expired Id issued by the authorized bodies of the country of origin.

Starting from 1st October Republic of Macedonia fully liberalizes the visa regime also concerning all the EU White list countries. The Citizens of Andorra, Brunei, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, El Salvador, Singapore, South Korea, Uruguay, Honk Kong, and Macao will be able to pass our border and enter our countries without visa. In case the experiences from the   visa cancellation are positive, this policy will have further usage.

Each foreign citizen who is a holder of rightful Schengen C visa will be able to enter Macedonia without possessing the Macedonian visa, while the stay duration will be defined by the Schengen visa regulation conditions.

Achieved agreement between the Macedonian visa regime and the EU one is determined by the force of our determination to become a member of the EU and the tendency for comprehensive liberalization of our visa regime with the one of the European Union.

Taking as a initial point our expressed political will for developing the economic collaboration with the world’s economic identities and attracting foreign investments, we assume that, open borders will contribute to greater exchange of exchange of ideas and goods. We are certain that the simplified entry procedures will be of benefit not only to strengthening the political dialogue and relations of our country with state members of the EU, but also for establishing sound bases  for further economic inter-state collaboration and drawing inward foreign investments.
